What DPI means here

Effective DPI is the number of image pixels available for each printed inch. Enlarging an image spreads the same pixels over more space, so the effective DPI falls as the poster gets larger.

Around 150 DPI is usually convincing for a wall poster. A close-viewed photo benefits from more; a sign viewed across a room can work with less.

What cannot add detail

Saving a small file as “300 DPI” does not create new detail. The important inputs are the actual pixel dimensions and the physical print size.

Open the poster maker to preview the image across A4 or Letter sheets.
