Clear print setup

A tiled poster that fits a home printer.

The US Letter preset builds each PDF page at exactly 8.5 by 11 inches. A safe outer margin accounts for the area that many home printers cannot reach.

Neighboring pages repeat a narrow strip of the image. The repeated area gives you something to align before taping the sheets together from behind.

If the final dimensions matter, use the exact-size mode and run the printer scaling test once. Most size errors come from a print dialog set to Fit rather than Actual size.

Quick setup

Make a Letter-paper poster in three steps.

  1. Choose the image

Use one JPG, PNG, or WebP image and confirm it looks clear at the intended wall size.

  2. Set the Letter grid

Select US Letter paper, then choose a page grid or exact dimensions for the finished poster.

  3. Download and print at Actual size

Print the PDF on 8.5 by 11 inch paper with Fit and Shrink turned off before joining the sheets.

Before you print

Settings that matter for this job.

  1. Load 8.5 × 11 inch paper.

The Letter preset is built for the standard home and office paper size used in the US and Canada.

  2. Keep printer scaling off.

Choose Actual size or 100%. Fit to page can shrink the finished poster.

FAQ

Questions about this print job.

Can I print a large poster with US Letter paper?

Yes. PageToPoster splits one image across as many 8.5 × 11 inch sheets as you choose and combines them in one PDF.

Can I use borderless Letter printing?

You can reduce the safe margin if your printer supports borderless output, but a small overlap is still useful for aligning the sheets.

Print it right the first time.

Does PageToPoster store my image?

PageToPoster does not store your image.

Which print setting should I use?

Choose Actual size or 100% in the print dialog. Turn off Fit, Shrink, and Scale to page so every sheet keeps its intended dimensions.

Why do the pages overlap?

A small repeated edge makes alignment easier. Trim the marked edge of one sheet, place it over the matching image on the next sheet, then tape from behind.

Will this work with a home printer?

Yes. The default safe margin works with common inkjet and laser printers. Use the free printer scaling test if exact physical size matters.

What image quality do I need?

The live preview estimates effective image DPI. Above 150 DPI is crisp at close range. Lower values can still work for wall posters viewed from a few feet away.
